Got Carrot?

This is Bent Creek's Got Carrot? that I started a couple of days ago. I stitched all day while I was doing laundry, and this was all I wanted to work on. Isn't he darling? I love the little bunny eyes!

About Inspiration. I'm not sure what to do. Since this is a big piece, I counted down and in 3 inches because I left 3 inches on each side for framing. That is what I always leave. So even though the edge of the top border is in just a little from that 3 in and 3 down point, I figured it would be ok. I didn't think that the side border was more than a couple of stitches out. Well, after stitching the border on the first page (there are 30...) I am finding that it is hard to keep the left edge of the fabric in the qsnap. I don't want to take out what I have done, but I'm also thinking that it is not very much, and I will be stitching on this project for at least a year, and I really don't want to fight with this fabric. It makes my stitching more irritating, and there are enough irritating things in my life as it is. So I put it up for tonight and I will wait and see how I feel in the morning. Why is it only the big things that I mess up on? why can't I mess up on some small little thing?! Sigh.

oh I LOVE that Bent Creek! I can hear the bunnies now..."hey, we have you surrounded...surrender the carrot and you won't get hurt!"...lololol! I'm holding my Sea to Shining Sea...It's just easier for me this time around.

What a cute little finish to start the year off! Not sure what to tell you about Inspiration, but you can always sew a strip of muslin onto the side that's short. That way you'll have enough to fit into the q-snap and enough for framing. When you have it finished (framed or whatever), make sure that part's covered up. (Don't ask me how I know about this! LOL)

Really adorable bunnies...I just love them!

I'm thinking I'd probably frog the stitching you have done and restart better centered.

I'm always paranoid about running out of room! On large pieces I usually pin the center and count up and out from there, placing pins every 20 stitches. Check and double check. Then I start stitching and end up checking again! OCD? Yes!

I'm having the same problem with the sides of my Inspiration. I think this 32 count fabric is so fine that it just crawls out of the q-snaps. Sometimes when this happens, I put a piece of cotton fabric (just any light colored scrap) over the fabric before I snap the piece down over it. That seems to keep it in place a bit better. I'm even having trouble keeping my snaps tight on the places where there is plenty of fabric (like the right side and bottom). I'm thinking I may be pulling out some fabric for all 4 snaps. What size q-snaps do you use? I'm using 8" ones right now.

That is one of my most absolute favorite pieces that I stitched :o) I think the bunnies are adorable. I'm not sure how to finish mine yet.

I have never started from a corner and I'm not sure if I could. I'd be too scared of running out of fabric :oS
